New finds

Here you will find a brand new blog titled "Papabile", devoted exclusively to the question of who might become the next Pope. For the unitiated, papabile is a term referring to one considered a likely candidate for the papacy. Sometimes they're chosen, sometimes they're not. Only the Holy Spirit knows for sure who it will be...but it's so much fun to WONDER.

The only equivalent practice I can think of are the March Madness betting pools, where people fill in those trees to determine who will be in the Final Four. Obviously, it's a waste of time, but it's a lot of fun in the meanwhile. This blog provides links to bios of various Cardinal papabiles, including my favorite (as it turns out, I am not alone in this- I've encountered multiple blogs rooting for Arinze; and they usually quote articles where he is mentioned as a favorite papabile. One of my good friends hopes Arinze will be elected too. We shall see!)

It also has links to some good articles, especially one that points out how Centrist the Pope was. The Media often forget this fact; the Pope had to tend to heretics on both sides of the fence.

Secondly, I've discovered a blog called Half-Baked Taters. Great links and colorful commentary!
