Pope's first address

The Penitent Blogger has posted the first address, courtesy Vatican Information Service. So too has Amy Wellborn, and she has good articles and running commentary on her main page. You can read the tintinnabulations in his words, as if he can hardly believe it himself, and he's just pinching himself over and over again. What an awesome responsibility he must sense right now! Also, check out the Pope Blog; apparently I'm not the only one seeking to know why he chose the name Benedict. One thing I forgot to mention among my clues is the fact that St. Benedict is the patron of Europe. There you will find a link to an article that points out that Ratzinger was born on April 16, the feastday of St. Benedict Joseph Labre. Yet another clue!

Which point reminds me...what a birthday present for Der Papst, eh?

Deo Omnis Gloria says that the Pope has just given a shout-out to all the Protestants when he declares that "Jesus Christ is first and foremost; everything else is secondary."
