~~Happy Feast of the Angels~~

Today I made Angel Food Cake served with strawberry sauce. The strawberries are said to represent the Sacred Heart of the Infant Jesus; according to one legend, Mary and Joseph enjoyed some on their flight into Egypt. Perhaps those sweet strawberries were heaven-sent?

Today is also my brother's birthday. Hence, his middle name: Michael.

Honor Saint Michael, Saint Raphael, and Saint Gabriel, those glorious Archangels of God! May they surround and protect the flood victims in New Orleans and El Salvador.

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle; be our defense against the
wickedness and snares of the Devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray; and do
thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the power of God, cast into hell Satan
and all the other evil spirits who roam about the world, seeking the ruin of
souls. Amen.

I like how you posted the St. Michael prayer. It is very special and when I say the Rosary I always include it at the end. I even read that it used to be said at the end of masses too.

PS: The feast of the Guardian Angels is Oct. 2

Strawberries to represent the Sacred Heart of the Infant Jesus . . . What a lovely tradition! Thanks for mentioning it. :)
