Catholic Culture has some great ideas for celebrating this day with children, reminding them of their baptismal promise.
People ask me if I am still discerning a vocation to the priesthood, and I tell them I am-- but I'm focusing right now on fulfilling my baptismal vocation, and that's a job unto itself: being a good Christian, a task that never ceases, a responsibility that will only ever lead to greater things.
Today is where it all began for Christ, who only moved towards greater and greater Greatness...and still does. For we have taken up the mission of Christ. Every one of us matters in the way we live our life and how we choose to be in this world. Every single Christian contributes to Christ's glory, and there may even be those born of the Spirit who do the same.
Praise be for the life we've been given, the destiny to which we've been called as sons and daughters of God! Let us burn our candles with zeal and cast away the bushel baskets. Let us take up our Cross and seek only to please the Lord. Let us take the plunge into a future full of mercy, hearts first~
