Everything else is gas at best

demonic at worst.

Here's what you need to know about the SSPX:

1. His Holiness wished to remove an impediment that adversely affected the opening of a door to dialogue. Now he expects that the same willingness be expressed by the four bishops, in total adhesion to the doctrine and discipline of the Church [including Nostra Aetate].

2. The full recognition of the magisterium of Benedict XVI himself is an indispensable condition [who publicly and utterly rejects Holocaust denial/reductionism].

3. Bishop Williamson, to be admitted to episcopal functions in the Church, must also distance himself in an absolutely unmistakable and public way from his position on the Shoah, which was unknown to the Holy Father in the moment of the lifting of the excommunication.

[paraphrased from Whispers]

THIS JUST IN: the bloggers at dotCommonweal pulled out these three points too (only theirs reads better). I'm just tickled that I wasn't the only one to have cracked the nut.

ALSO: I'm adding dotCommonweal to my sidebar. They seem to have their heads screwed on moderately well compared to the heterodoxy they publish in print.
