Today's feast, in which we celebrate the meeting of two holy women, offers us a profound glimpse into the scriptural validation of the Church's teaching on the sanctity of human life in the womb.

In this fresco, John bows to his cousin, a depiction of the blessed moment when the Gospel was first proclaimed by Jesus, before he had even been born!

Let's remind ourselves, consequently, that God was sanctifying us before we were even born~
