Twelfth Night

Tonight is the traditional date of the Epiphany of Jesus Christ the King.

I will be celebrating with an evening of storytelling and song. We'll sing the 12 Days carol, read excerpts from Shakespeare's play, as well as O.Henry's short story "the Gift of the Magi", and sing We 3 Kings before ending with the Epiphany Blessing of the House.

You can click the link above to find out what it means to Bless the Home on the Feast of the Three Kings. Blessing the house at the start of a New Year is a practice shared by Jews and Christians and among Christians of all circles, Orthodox, Protestant, and Catholic.

This is appropriate, because it reminds us that the Word has been sent forth to all nations, represented by the Three Magi: Caspar, Melchior, and Balthasar- from the continents of Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. Christ has redeemed His people, Israel.

May His Kingdom come, His will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven~
