Gentle Mother, Peaceful Dove

Teach us Wisdom; Teach us Love~

I am reminded today of the need to ponder the way I live my life. Do my actions nurture a peaceful disposition in my neighbor, or do I sow ingratitude? Do I live graciously and generously? Do I offer myself wholly to the Lord?

We are called on this Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God to offer our intentions for the World Day of Peace. How appropriate that these two events should coincide, for who better to teach us Peace than the Mother of the Prince?

Today was once known as the Feast of the Circumcision; therefore, we treble our instruction. If the Infant Prince was willing to submit to his Father's Law regarding the flesh, then what does that teach us about obedience? And who more than Mary knows obedience to the Lord?

Ponder your heart with Mary at your side this year. Ask her to teach you, govern you, and sustain you in prayer. You may even consider Total Consecration. Immaculate Heart of Mary, beat within us!
