I'm quoting a mere fragment of what you'll find to be an excellent article by Philip Jenkins on Europe's apostasy, so I strongly encourage you to read the whole thing.

But I was just tickled by this little quip and had to share. Jenkins is talking about Moslems in Western Europe being less religiously hardcore, allaying fears that they are taking over the continent: "they have...a low level of religious observance. They look like Episcopalians more than anything."
