I was in El Salvador praying at Romero's tomb when I heard the news.
Last year, while the bells were rung during the Hour of Great Mercy when he had breathed his last, I had a pentecostal moment.
Now it's been two years. No bells. Just the reminder that he's still with us.
What astonishes me is that Benedict has only been Seated 2 years; he's been doing such a good job I'd almost forgotten he's only just getting started. I'll cherish every moment.
