Interesting

This week's Catholic Carnival examines the interesting times in which we live.

Whispers reports an event of great interest, the recognitio of the US Bishops for the improved translations of the Roman Missal into English. I can't wait to hear the priest pray, "Make holy, therefore, these gifts, we pray, by sending down your Spirit upon them like the dewfall."

Isn't that poetic?

Two women have experienced that dewfall in a most powerful way. One is a wife whose child's life expectancy outside her womb was practically zero, yet she did not terminate the pregnancy. The other is a Serbian nun who was raped and impregnated. Her heroic story can be found here.

These women offer a powerful testimony in contrast to the evil policies of Beijing, now hosting this summer's most interesting event. While the Chinese pull off the biggest PR blitz for socialist tyranny since Hitler, watch the stories behind the headlines- the athletes who lost with dignity, who helped a teammate, who sacrificed so much to give their all.

Be inspired to do the same for Jesus. Make your time interesting to Him.
