Let there be Peace on Earth

Let this be the moment now...

While walking the dog on this lovely summer day in November, I penned the following open letter :

Good Senator and President-elect Barack H. Obama -

Your victory speech, an oration that will undoubtedly be ranked among the greatest in this nation's history, compels me to raise my voice. In it, you said, "This is our chance to answer that call...to restore prosperity and promote the cause of peace."

Peace, good man, begins in the womb; in particular Peace began in the womb of a young woman from Nazareth, whose declaration, "Yes, we can!" resounds with us today. Lasting peace brings freedom. Just as the freedom to own slaves- to treat another as property- is no true freedom, so too the freedom that compels a young woman to end the life in her womb- to treat another as property- is no true freedom at all. It means an end to peace in the most peaceful of all places.

I implore you, on behalf of the millions who suffer violence in the womb, on behalf of the miillions of young women and their loved ones shackled by the false freedom of the abortion industry- a disproportionate number of whom are African-Americans-- please do not honor the promise you made to the eugenicists at Planned Parenthood. Please promote the cause of peace and prosperity for all~
